dc.description.abstractCitrus peels have been known to be a source of natural tonic, and bioactive compounds for prophylactics and improving health. In this research, bioactive compounds were secreted from fresh grinded peels of Dao Lime (Citrus hybrid ± Citrus spp.), Da Lat Lime (Citrus limonia Osbeck), Thanh Tra Pomelo (Citrus grandis Obsbeck), and Da Xanh Pomelo (Citrus maxima) by solvent extraction with three different solvents: methanol, ethanol, and acetone. The effect of those solvents on extracting compounds was noticed by measuring the total phenolic compounds with Folin-&LRFDOWHX¶V UHDJHQW_ Due to the different ratios of available compounds in each kind of peels and the dissolving ability of solvents, the TPC results were various. In DL, DLL and TTP, acetone gave the highest extractive ability. However, the methanol was an exception in DXP. These highest results were collected and kept on in the antimicrobial and the antioxidant tests through diffusion method (DM), minimum inhibition concentration (MIC), and DPPH method. In general, the effect of bioactive compounds against S.Typhi was more than that against S.aureus, and DL was shown as the best among them, even in the antioxidant test. The results of antimicrobial and antioxidant tests were illustrated that Citrus bioactive compounds could be considered as natural remedy for humans. Based on their ratios in peels, each kind had its own method to be extracted and its own effect.
