The future of mobile communications has been suggested with LTE/WWAN. In this thesis, an investigation into how to design a LTE/WWAN mobile phone antenna will be carried out with a planar printed antenna. The printed antenna can lead to much widened bandwidths in both the antenna's lower and upper bands to cover LTE700/GSM850/900 and DCS1800/PCS1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500, respectively with return loss less than -6dB. Good radiation effeciency and antenna gain for frequencies over the desired operating bands are obtained. The simulation based on HFSS will show the radiation characteristics of the proposed antennas and the implementation on the FR-4 substrate will give data compared to that of the simulation.en_US
