This is the first finding of new active compound COM521 in Chromoleana odorata L., which was 3-hydroxyl-5-[(N-methylamino)methyl]-tetrahydrofuran-2-one. The second active compound was 3-((6-O-(6-deoxy-α-L-manopyranosyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl)oxy)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,7-dihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one. Both of them showed the anti-inflammatory activity by following carrageenan-induced oedema in mice. The two active compounds COM521 and COM18 showed anti-inflammatory activity with IC50 value was 8.01 mg/kg body weight, and 6.62 mg/kg body weight respectively. Key words: Chromoleana odorata L., Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M. King & H. Robinson, C.odorata, Eupatorium odorata L., anti-inflammation, anti-cancer, carrageenan-induced oedema in mice, biological activity.en_US
