dc.description.abstractMangifera indica is a common tropical fruit tree that also plays an important role in traditional medicine. Since globalization of diabetes mellitus has become burden for any nation that causes premature mortality in the recent years, antidiabetic activity of M. indica is always on awareness and investigated on several researches. In this study, the potential of M. indica in antidiabetic property has revealed in MSG-induced type 2 diabetes mouse model. The results showed that the extract significantly reduced blood glucose level up to 25.4% at dose of 250 mg/kg body weight in 12-hour fasted MSG-induced diabetes mice after 4 hours of administration. The outcome pointed out that mango leaves could be recruited for type 2 diabetes treatment. Keywords: type 2 diabetes, ethanolic extract, Mangifera indica L., MSG.en_US
