dc.description.abstract | Purpose – This research aims to explore factors: identification, selfefficacy, competency and work engagement create the impact of leadership
(transformational leadership and transactional leadership) on employees’ job satisfaction.
Design/ methodology/ approach – A sample of 450 official workers was
surveyed to test the model. The sample of 350 respondents (100 respondents from 450 do
not qualify the requirement of the study or refuse to complete the survey) with high
quality responses was actually inputted to analyze factors create the impact of leadership
on employees’ job satisfaction in Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. Two-step approach in
structural equation modeling (including CFA and SEM) was used to analyze the data.
Findings – It was found that identification; self-efficacy; competence and
work engagement mediated the relationship between leadership and job satisfaction. It
was also pointed that there had no sign to distinguish between transformational leadership
and transactional leadership in this research.
Research limitation – A major limitation of this study was the use of
sample drawn from one province – Lam Dong Province, Vietnam.
Practical implications – The findings suggest that the leader should be
trained to improve the job satisfaction of employees.
