dc.description.abstract | Although Foreign Direct Investment was used after other financial
instruments, FDI has quickly asserted its important position in the international
economy. FDI has been becoming an essential investment capital for the economy of
not only developed countries but also developing countries.
For Vietnam's economy, FDI has played important role in integration
process. And in recent years, the amount of FDI inflow to provinces of Vietnam has
also been increasing, especially to Southern focal economic area. This paper is
conducted to determine what factors lure FDI inflows to Long An, Dong nai, and
Binh Duong, the provinces of Southern focal economic area. Based on literature
review and previous empirical studies, this paper is implemented with 5 independent
variables - Population, Labor costs, Skilled Labors, PCI and Infrastructure, and a
dependent variable - accumulated amount of FDI in the period of 12 years (2003 -
2014).
To analyze the issue, both quantitative and qualitative method are applied.
The relationship between 5 independent variables and FDI is estimated by regression
model. As the result, labor costs, skilled labor and infrastructure are the main factors
affecting to FDI inflows to Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong.
The purpose of this paper is to find out the good way to improve the
amount of FDI inflows to Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong in future years. | en_US |
