dc.description.abstractRosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a small woody, perennial herb, which is very famous for its high antioxidant activity and multiple health benefits of its essential oil. This study focused on the effects of auxins (IAA, NAA, 2,4-D) and cytokinins (BA, TDZ) on callus formation as well as adventitious shoot induction in light or dark condition of rosemary invitro . In single hormone treatments, 2,4-D was proved to be the best hormone for callus formation and TDZ is the best hormone for adventitious shoot induction with the highest adventitious shoot rate in light condition (54% shoot induction at concentration of 1mg/L TDZ). The combination of BA and 2,4-D was the best for callus formation, which showed more effective for adventitious shoot formation with the highest adventitious shoot formation rate obtained in MS medium supplemented with 0,1mg/L 2,4-D and 0,2mg/L BA or 0,1 mg/L 2,4-D and 0,5mg/L BA.
