Critical factors influencing guest loyalty toward hotels in Ho Chi Minh city - A mediation analysis of satisfaction
Abstract
The purposes of this study were to investigate possible factors influencing guest loyalty towards hotels and to examine how these factors influence the guest loyalty through the mediation of guest satisfaction. Based on a literature review, seven factors influencing guest satisfaction and guest loyalty towards hotels were derived. This study applied quantitative approach with structured questionnaires directly delivered to 235 international hotel guests. Subsequent exploratory factor analysis and hypothesis testing revealed that four remaining factors are key antecedents of guest satisfaction and guest loyalty towards hotels including productivity, competency, and service setting, and price. With regard to the forth factor, price was actually not found to heavily influence guest satisfaction but directly affecting guest loyalty. Based on the findings, the key theoretical and managerial implications are discussed in the latter part of this paper.
