This paper aims to explore the causal relationships between four dimensions of sustainable supplier management (sustainable supplier selection, sustainable supplier collaboration, sustainable supplier development, sustainable supplier monitoring), and buyer-supplier linkage. Moreover, this study also extends to test the connections of buyer-supplier relationship, green design, and firm performance. Based on data collected from 156 manufacturers in Vietnam, the study used the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach to test the causality relationships in a research framework. The findings indicate that both sustainable supplier collaboration and development have significant effects on the buyer-supplier relationship, whereas the buyer-supplier relationship has a positive influence on green design for sustainability and firm performance. Besides, green design is also associated with firm performance. Finally, the results contribute to the current literature by exploring the multi-dimensions of sustainable supplier management, as well as to practical implications by providing some feasible suggestions for company leaders.en_US
