Nowadays, the issue of sustainable drainage is receiving great attention and researches in the world. It is facing floods and the consequences of climate change. For Vietnam, this issue is still new, it has not been fully studied and paid little attention. In recent years, climate change has strongly influenced Vietnam. The problem of sunshine and rain is increasingly affecting large cities. In Ho Chi Minh City and many other cities, flooding becomes a difficult problem. Although there have been many expansion and development projects, as well as focusing on traditional drainage solutions from the region as quickly as possible to control floods, many scientists, many research projects with many Efforts have been made to remedy the situation but the flood continues. This not only affects the beauty of the urban area, the activities of the people ... but also leads to a series of negative consequences such as epidemics, disease economic damage when approaching the solution. Environmentally friendly, such as the application of eco-technology (KTST) to make green roofs, increase the permeability area and the permeable surface, as well as apply sustainable measures for the future.... That solution has not been paid attention, applied to reality. Therefore, this study is conducted with the aim of approaching and applying advanced solutions in the field of sustainable and effective drainage in the world in order to find suitable solutions for system development. Sustainable drainage including solutions to reduce flooding in urban areas in Vietnam today in general and District 9 - Ho Chi Minh City in particular is essential.en_US
