Implications of employee satisfaction & employee competencies in HRM practices in small and medium sized enterprises- Case study Viet potential development corporation
Abstract
Following the pressure of tough competition today, small-and-medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam is striving to be more competitive in the marketplace. Besides of financial and production competencies, human resources are included in the value chain of each enterprise. However, not all business’s owners have the fair and earnest consideration about this issue. It is not only due to perceptions that just focus on frontline operations, but it is also because of late awareness of human resource management (HRM) practices, especially in SMEs.
To give a practical model of HRM practices in Vietnamese SMEs, this thesis aim to provide potential solutions for this issue. By choosing a case study of Viet Potential Development Corporation (VPD), the research explores and gives answer for human resource situation in this company, especially the impacts of employee competency and employee satisfaction.
This research has obvious objectives. Firstly, it design and measures the model of employee competency and workplace factors, applied in the case of VPD. Secondly, it analyzes how they affect employee performance and employee satisfaction. In the final step, the research gives solutions for above issues, in specific actions and strategic HRM planning of VPD. There might be some recommendations
for further study in other SMEs.
