The determinants of newscomer's performance at work in Ho Chi Minh city
Abstract
This study was used quantitative research methods to determine the determinants of newcomers’ performance at work in Ho Chi Minh. Data were collected from questionnaires sent via email for new employees. From the theory of job satisfaction, performance and previous research about job satisfaction,
independent variables were constructed with 5 points Likert scale, and dependent
variable was set as the quantitative variable.
The reliability of this scale has been tested by the coefficient Cronbach's alpha and factor analysis (EFA). Linear regression model was built with the relationship between dependent variable - performance of employees and eight independent variables included skills, responsibility, attendance, superior, colleague,
income, training and promotion, job characteristics. After testing the reliability of the scale, the model was adjusted with five independent variables included expectation, skills & responsibility, superior, income, attendance. Results of regression analysis showed that six factors have influenced significantly to performance of newcomers.
Beside that, this study also showed that there are no differences of gender, education level, working duration with the performance.
