dc.description.abstractAfter suffering injury, the body's inflammatory response is thought of as a fundamental concept for the regeneration of cells and the repair of damaged tissue. It seems to be a good factor, however, this mechanism of inflammation just does not do harm to the body in short term that overtime, it will turn to acute and chronic inflammation, which can result in many health problems: cardiovascular diseases, arthritis and joint diseases, allergies or even chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Therefore, there has been a wide range of pharmaceutical products formulated for the anti-inflammation including nanotechnology encapsulation of different types of drugs. In this study, astaxanthin will be loaded in silica redox nanoparticles (asta@siRNP) that with expectations, bioavailability of astaxanthin would be greatly enhanced when it is given by oral administration of asta@siRNP, due to its retention in the colonic mucosa. Oxidation is one of the inflammatory responses, so that there are ABTS radicals scavenging test and the regulation of NO produced from lipopolysaccharide to evaluate the anti-oxidant characteristic of asta@siRNP. According to the findings of this study, asta@siRNP is a promising nanomedicine that has a great promise for the treatment of inflammation and has the ability to enhance the anti-inflammatory property of astaxanthin.en_US
