dc.description.abstractIn recent years, cardiovascular health problems are receiving more and more attention, one of which is heart failure, which directly affects the life of humans. Arterial ligation experiments on mouse hearts for the purpose of researching and finding a cure for heart failure are difficult because the manipulations require high accuracy; however, the mouse heart is not only extremely small, about 10 millimeters, but also beats very fast, 720 beats per minute. Meanwhile, NIR light technology has a high potential to assist in identifying arteries in mouse hearts with high accuracy. In the proposed study, a device is designed to provide real-time images of veins inside mice for improving accuracy in heart failure researching. A digital microscope camera with filter is applied to record the veins of mouse and then display them on a tablet screen. This device is designed with two 808nm NIR laser diodes and one IR Microscope Camera equipped with a long-pass filter, which transmits longer wavelengths than 800nm, for image acquisition. Additionally, the images displayed on the screen will be edited for color and contrast to aid in seeing the arteries of samples. The prototype was tested with seven mice of different sizes divided into two groups according to their ages to ensure that the effectiveness of the device was not affected by the sample size. The final results show the suitability of the laser infrared light for the mouse artery finder and the quality of the output image of the filter microscope camera.en_US
