Nowadays, travel plays an important role as one of the best ways to please people’s demand of broadening knowledge, relaxing and overcoming pressure to make the most of life. When some kinds of tour such as eco-tour, sea travel, and cultural tour are quite popular; medical tourism has appeared as a new kind of travel which can meet that need effectively in recent years. Catching up the lightning speed, this kind has been booming with the fastest development, particularly in developing countries, and of course Vietnam is not an exception. FV Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City is considered as an ideal place having favorable conditions to develop medical tourism. However, these potentials have not been fully exploited yet because there are still existing problems of the cit y which can badly influence the development of medical tourism. Up to now, the government as well as FV Hospital’s management has not implemented any strategies to build up the brand-image for medical tourism in Vietnam which caused many negative impacts for medical travelers. This reduces the attraction and motivation of the medical tourists when they choose location to visit. Therefore, the research aims to find out factors influencing the choice of FV Hospital as destination choice for medial tourism and an analysis of its potential for development. Besides collecting data from sources such as tourist guidebooks, newspapers, magazines, internet, etc., the data is also taken from questionnaires and interviews with medical tourist and tourism expert in Ho Chi Minh City. The findings reveal that although there are some existing problems, medical travel is believed to possibly become the target tourism business of FV Hospital In summary, FV Hospital can completely develop medical tourism as a key product of the hospital if there are effective strategies to cope with current obstacles as well as enhance the marketing promotion.en_US
