Nowadays, with the recent advance in technology, black box module for vehicle tracking is very necessary for in traffic management. Using black box is convenient, useful for drivers and for managers as well. And at this time, State policy requires that all the transportation business units to use black boxes for easily controlling in 2011. Hence, black box product for managing and tracking vehicles is becoming a “hot” product in the market. This thesis project presents the design hardware and firmware, implementations and evaluation of a prototype black box system which can send SMS message (including: coordinates, speed, direction, time…) to tracking center, and manager when necessary. An integrated circuit board has been constructed to achieve the overall goal. The device acquires the SIM548 GPRS module with GPS/GSM part which can detect and receive signal from GPS satellites and transmit SMS messages, SD card for storing GPS data and rechargeable pin for emergency operation.en_US
