dc.description.abstractThe Ministry of Health planned to have family medicine departments in all medical schools by 2010 which will increase family medicine residency spots by 2010 (Ha Noi Medical University, Medical Curriculum 2007). As Vietnam keeps growing its economy, the medical system will evolve and people will need more family physicians. The main aim of this research is to make a scrutiny in attitudinal behaviors that consumers form before getting to adoption intention toward Family Doctor service in Ho Chi Minh City. In order to elucidate this considering, the study is about to resolve the research problems as follow: (1) What are the determinants of consumer adoption intention of Family Doctor service in Ho Chi Minh City, (2) How much the determinants affect the intention to adopt Family Doctor service. The research process is started off with building a theoretical framework including independent variables (factors) and researched dependent variable (consumer adoption intention). It is then the time for developing questionnaires and distributing them to the respondents. Data will be collected from sources, questionnaire and qualitative approach. After that, data analysis test is run and findings will come out for later conclusion and recommendations. From the findings of the research, there are four main factors that affect consumer intention to adopt Family Doctor service in Ho Chi Minh City, including Objective and Subjective norms, Individual effort, Perceived Risk and Observability with the greatest impact belongs to Objective and Subjective norms. But the difference in impact of these factor is not large, so it is important to pay attention all four. With limitation of time and ability, this research maybe is not totally relevant but this can be seen as a consultation for further researches later on.en_US
