dc.description.abstractIn the medical field, patient data is very important and it needs to be looked up frequently and rapidly, especially for an emergency or complicated treatments. People are more numerous and that means the data resources are becoming bigger. The hospitals are overloaded with tons of patient forms and it is extremely difficult if a doctor wants any data from the past ten years. The purpose of this thesis is to design a patient data look-up application for the iPhone. With QR code implement, it helps both the patients and doctors save time and money so that precise treatment can be given. QR codes have been recently popular in developed countries. The scope of use for QR codes really is huge, particularly for the marketing and advertising of products, brands, and services. It is fast, cheap, and familiar with people. However, this thing is not truly used for medical applications. The target users of this thesis are doctors or specific medical agents who have been authorized and have rights to access patient data. They can easily look up the data of the patients at any time, anywhere with just an iPhone that has 3G or Wifi mode activated.en_US
